The truth is everyone is busy nowadays. The days fly by and prices seem to increase daily. Parents often have to work more than one job or extremely long hours. This frequently creates a balancing act between career and family life.
For many parents it is a challenge to determine the best ways to bond with their children, oftentimes letting social media/tv raise them. The lack of human interaction is insufficient, resulting in devastating outcomes. Children are seeing increases in suicide rates, drug use, joining gangs and higher crime rates.
“Building children’s relationships with caregivers and adult family members through shared activities boosts children’s emerging sense of self, alleviating stress, helping with emotional regulation, and understanding of the world around them”- Raikes 1996
“Studies suggest that positive parenting activities protect kids from the effects of stress. Not only do children enjoy better health outcomes, they are also less likely to develop stress-related mental health abnormalities.” -Whittle et al, 2017
